What do you think?‬🤔

We all know that addressing California’s homeless problem is an extremely challenging task. It cannot be solved overnight with a snap of the fingers, （彈指一揮間一蹴而就）so we must approach it with clear differentiation and prioritization:

First, help those who want to support themselves through work by providing them with suitable job opportunities as much as possible, so they can leave the ranks of the homeless as quickly as possible.

Second, help those who still have hope in their hearts and genuinely want to change their lives. Reignite their passion for living, prevent them from giving up on themselves, gradually help them recover to a state where they can work, and then assist them in finding employment.

Third, we deal with the homeless who are severely afflicted by drug addiction, alcoholism, mental illness, and similar issues — helping them detox, receive treatment, and transform step by step.

However, we cannot reverse this order. We cannot over-focus on the third group, pouring in massive amounts of funding and resources while achieving very little results, while the first and second groups lack the attention and support they deserve. This has caused the number of homeless people to keep increasing instead of decreasing, which is exactly why we are in the current situation.

We must first hit the brakes and implement precise, targeted interventions. Only then can we achieve twice the result with half the effort （事半功倍）and truly solve the problem. These are our opinions.

Thank you!

‪To Steve Hilton： Mr Future Governor 🫡we like your debate 👍but we have another idea for homelessness: we think CA government should create more jobs for the unemployed people to avoid them becoming homeless.
